Kate Arecchi has directed, choreographed, and performed at professional and educational theatres around the United States including Expanded Arts (NYC), Galveston Island Musicals (TX), Northern Stage (VT), Granbury Opera House (TX), Mill Mountain Theatre (VA), Syracuse Stage (NY), and Theater at Monmouth (ME). 

Interested in new work, Kate has collaborated with composer Mildred Kayden adapting and directing the musical
STORYVILLE (currently available through Samuel French), directed a workshop production of Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk's THE WOMAN UPSTAIRS at North Shore Music Theatre and Boston Conservatory, and directed multiple workshops of Marita De Lara's play YOU PICK COLOR at East West Players in LA. 

The 2003 production of
PIRATES OF PENZANCE which she direced and choreographed at the Papermill Theatre in NH won six NH Theatre Awards including Best Director, Best Choreographer, and Best Professional Musical. In 2007, her  Papermill production of BEAUTY & the BEAST won three NH Theatre Awards, including Best Professional Musical.  An associate member of the SSDC, additional directing and choreography credits include SWEENEY TODD, CABARET, CITY OF ANGELS, WEST SIDE STORY, QUILTERS, CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS, and MACBETH

Kate is the Artistic Director of the Papermill Theatre in NH.  Previously, she served as the Artistic Director/ Associate Producer of Galveston Island Musicals (TX), the Artistic Director/ Writer for the Papermill Theatre Children's Theatre Company (NH), and as the Associate Artistic Director at PerformancePLUS (NH).. 

Kate is the Musical Theatre Coordinator at
James Madison University (VA).  She also has served as the Director of Theatre at the Holderness School (NH), and as an adjunct professor at Plymouth State University (NH).  She teaches workshops and coaches privately, specializing in musical theatre performance, monologue preparation and audition technique.

A member of AEA and SAG, Kate traveled the country on the national tours of JOSEPH AND THE... DREAMCOAT and SHENANDOAH, and has performed in both regional and NYC theatres.  

Kate is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance and of Pennsylvania State University with an MFA in Directing.
